Guys I am writing this to you while I'm in tears from laughter. This has hurt me so much that I am now numb to the pain. I laugh even though it is really sad and hurtful. I lost my job during covid and my life has since been small hellish. I have since seen things that I never thought were possible.
My mother in law is in full control of our finances. I once got tired of confronting my husband because there were no changes so I ended up confronting my mother in law who asked me a very deep and painful question.
When I met my husband I already had a son and now I have two daughters with him. Every month on pay day since 2021, my husband doesn't sleep at home on pay day. He sleeps at his mother's house. That's because he sits down with his mom and little sister who is the same age as me and discuss on what to buy and how much.
He buys them groceries, pay for all their expenses and pays school fees and transport for his sister's children, lapho our kids had to downgrade and attend a government school and they are now walking to school.
He gets only left with R1500 every month for him. They buy us meat and groceries and in that grocery they buy us the smallest packages and I need to make it last till month end. We get 12 eggs, 500ml cooking oil, 1,tin fish just to give an idea of what I mean when I say small packaging.
My children no longer even get snacks anymore. My children don't even get sassa because my husband and I are married with a marriage certificate. I once asked him to rather not buy us groceries and just bring us the money, I was hoping to buy and resell fruits and veges just to make the money more. He told his mom and she came spitting fire and hurled insults tjo.
Upon confronting my mom in law the first time she asked me if "it's okay for her son to support a son who's father abandoned but wrong for him to support his mother, sister and her kids". I didn't want to say things I'll regret i just stood up and left. Everytime she tells me off, my sister in law is always there chewing chappies loudly and making mocking sounds and laughter.
I had no other option but to go for maintenance and my husband then moved out of our house and back to his moms. I am told by my in laws that I am not welcome there anymore. Rumors has it that he lives with his girlfriend there and the girl is always seen with my sis in law.
I've accepted the situation for what it is but I just hate how much they are punishing the kids. They have written them off and I can tell you now my kids miss their dad and they are miserable. My parents died when I was young so I was raised by my uncle and his wife and we don't really have a good relationship so I have nowhere to vent.
