My village may be the reason why limpopo results are at the bottom. In the past years our school would have 10 to 30 matriculants but this year it was packed. Over 200 matriculants. Most failed because of the village curse by most I mean 90%.
I come from a very small village in Limpopo which I will not name and shame because I might find my self in trouble. The witchcraft there can reveal anonymous, that's how severe it is. Re hwela teng(we are suffering quietly).
Mamazala in my village our cry for help is too loud. Parents are now even scared to allow their children to go beyond grade 11. We have had very horrible experiences with grade 12 learners especially those that passed.
We are a village that celebrates Matric fail more than anything in the world. Not because we are evil but we are scared of the lightning that will strike if majority pass.
I myself am 29 years old and failed Matric on purpose to save my life. Everytime a student passes their Matric it's either they fall very ill, lose their mind permanently or die a sudden weird death.
I know people from my village are going to see this, I am writing this because we seek help as a community but they are too scared to come forward. We have suspects but no one has the guts to confront them because this are serious allegations.
There are 6 families in the village that we suspect. These families are all friends and their children have passed Matric and furthered their studies with no complications. We could be wrong but it is a very questionable act.
There were rumors that villagers that goes to tarvens at night claim to have experienced on their way home. Apparently people who have passed their Matric and died are have been spotted at those houses at night.
Those who are mentally ill are always lingering at the gates of those houses unless their families come and fetch them,however they still go back even during the day they prefer just chilling at those 6 gates, why?
Those that are very ill and bed ridden always ask to be taken to those families, we still ask why?.
A group of villagers have once tried confronting this families and after the confrontation they started hearing voice in their heads and seeing their own bodies laying in coffins even though they are still alive. Basically once you confront the families you start hallucinating.
I am submitting this confession with so much fear and I know this might be the last thing I will ever type in my life. I am just tired and hoping and praying that our freer might be on this page.
It might be the end of my life after submitting my confession but mama please if anyone is willing to help and I am no longer reachable just give them my village name and they should proceed with helping.
My younger brother is doing his Matric this year and he is our only hope, I would also like to go back to repeat my Matric or write it elsewhere but those who went ahead and did their matrics elsewhere also did not survive the curse.
It is one of those you can run as fast as you can but you will never hide kind of situation. The six families will in the coming years take over our village and rena ra ka tshila tsa bona because we are not educated.

I an many others are already struggling. We can't even apply for EA posts it's not a nice feeling at all. It is very painful to say the least.
It hurts even more to see them prosper, it's like they are living lives that we should also be living but can't.
