It seems like the world now exposes the dark secrets. People back then used to join the dark world just to protect and save their dignity.
These days people do it for money hence I see so many stories exposing dark secrets. Let me share of my personal experiences just to alert you lot since vele these days it's done for money and moat of you are sacrificed unknowingly.

he would've brought them up like they are his and he injected them with his blood without the wives knowing when the baby's were barely a month.
When he told the first wife that he wanted to marry a second wife, he knew that she would automatically assume that it is because she wasn't falling pregnant for him so she went and got pregnant.
The same thing happened with all his other wives, the each had multiple children from wherever and thought they had fooled him not knowing that has been a part of his plan all along.
The last wife got pregnant by another man also only because the pressure of her being the only wife without his baby was deep. Each time the women fell pregnant his riches multiplied because the dark world was gaining yet another sacrifice.
The children would each die at a certain age, when that happens his business would be booming to its level best. He had a few businesses that he left under his siblings when he died.
He went into the dark world to create a name for his family and get them out of poverty. He sacrificed his wives children to accomplish wealth.
Even today I still see how aware women are about all this wealthy men's dealings but they still fall prey. Women are just too desperate to live a life they can't afford and that is why men use them to fulfill their sacrifices.
He would be so happy whenever the wives told him about his pregnancies because he knew that meant another 3years added on his wealth. When he died he left a letter with his lawyer to read with the will.
