My grandfather is a problem. He has always had a problem with inferdility from a young age from what I've been told by my mother. He was a rich man so he used that as a weapon to win girls over.
He had many cows and many goats. In the olden days a man with those things was wanted by many women. But my mother believes that her dad was a ritualist. Firstly nobody knows where or how he got his first cows.
Secondly every woman he marries dies. He married my grandmother and after my mother was born my grandmother died. A couple of years later he married another woman then after birth the woman died. Then a couple of years later the same thing happened.
According to my mother this happened a couple of times and the marriages all had a gap of 6 years in between and each time the wives passes away he walks barefoot for 6 months and he would get richer. My mom and her siblings were then convinced that their mothers were sacrificed.
According to my mother my grandfather had 6 wives and 6 children but he had many many girlfriemds. He had a hut in the yard next to the mansion he built for his kids,apparently he was a very good father who did everything for his kids. His hut was painted black inside and he had pictures of coffins drawn on the floor. His floor was red and the wall inside was black.
There was a big number 6 written on the wall it looked like it was written with bl00d. Anyway my grandfather had so many beautiful young girls. My mother struggled to understand how so many young girls would be okay with dating him and be okay with not being the only girl in his life.
My mother further said every year he added a younger girlfriend to his list and they all obeyed him. With years some of those girls were even younger than her. But they were crazy about umkhulu bae.
One day my mother found pictures of the girls tied with ropes on a very long pole. The pole was in the hut where everyone was forbidden from entering. Thats when she also saw how the inside of the room looks.
She said when my grandfather came from wherever he had gone to he opened the hut and went in. A few minutes later he came out fuming and told my mom to leave his yard and never come back.
That's how she left and truly never went back. Anyone who my grandfather married and impregnated died immediately after birth. My mother has never heard from any of her siblings. It's been over 20 years and she is 50+ years and she still wonders if any of the girls ever broke out of the spells.
