A Painful Loss: How My Mother’s Life Was Taken Unjustly
Losing a loved one is always painful, but losing them to injustice is a wound that never heals. My mother, a kind and loving woman who suffered from amnesia, lost her life in the most brutal and unfair way. It happened because of fear, ignorance, and the dangerous power of accusations.
My mother’s amnesia often made her wander. She would forget where she was or what she was doing. On that tragic day, she ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She was found in a house in our community, naked and confused. The family who lived there had just buried their father under mysterious circumstances, and grief had made them desperate for answers. Instead of trying to understand her condition, they accused her of witchcraft.
The accusation spread like wildfire. Within moments, people from the community gathered. My mother, who was already vulnerable, had no chance to explain or defend herself. The crowd, fueled by fear and anger, decided to take justice into their own hands. They didn’t stop to think about her condition or her innocence. They brutally took her life right there.
My mother was not a witch. She was a victim of her illness and of the community’s ignorance. She deserved understanding, help, and compassion—not violence. What happened to her shows how dangerous it is when fear and blame replace truth and kindness.
Now, I carry the pain of losing her in such a terrible way. But I also carry a message: we must stop this kind of injustice. We must learn to care for those who are vulnerable and understand that accusations can destroy lives. My mother’s life was precious, and no one deserves to die the way she did.
To honor her memory, I will continue to speak out about what happened. I hope that by sharing her story, I can help prevent this from happening to someone else’s mother, sister, or loved one. Justice, compassion, and understanding must replace fear and violence. It’s the only way we can truly protect one another.
What hurts the most about the whole situation is that I ran to the scene as soon as I heard what was happening with proof that my mother indeed has amnesia and I was also bitterly assaulted. Luckily for me the police came to my rescue.
I despite the whole community for doing what they did to my mother and I can't stand them and sometimes I wish their loved ones could get amnesia and I would gladly do what they did to my mother. I just want them to feel my pain.
